Ashtanga Yoga Classes for 2012 commence Monday 2nd January 2012.

There's no time like the present to get started. Step 1 Class introduces all newcomers to Ashtanga Yoga. Start any day of the week by arriving 15 minutes early to your first class.

Bring a towel and a yoga mat or purchase or hire at mat at class.

Teachers

 

Each of our teachers has over 20 years involvement in Yoga.

 

Iain Clark

Iain Clark is one of only 5 people in Australia to have been personally Certified by the late Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga Yoga's master teacher) to teach and represent Ashtanga Yoga. Iain was drawn towards yoga as a teenager and attended classes at a local Ashram. He completed studies as a Massage Therapist, and studied at University level, Western Pyschology, Sanskrit and Comparitive Eastern Religions. He has been involved in the study of Ayurveda and has completed Yoga teacher training in several styles of Yoga.

 

 

 

Richard Clark

Richard Clark completed a 3 year teacher training at Ashtanga Yoga Shala. He undertook Yoga practices as a teenager through the Satyananda and Sivananda Yoga Schools. He has a Bachelor Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture), qualifications in Herbal Medicine and Massage Therapy. He is a Practitioner of Ayurvedic Medicine and is a past president of the Australasian Ayurvedic Practioners Association. 

 

 

 

 

 

Maxine Conroy

Maxine Conroy has been practising Ashtanga Yoga since 1992 and has completed a 3 year teacher training at Ashtanga Yoga Shala. She is a secondary school Visual Art teacher. Maxine continues a family involvement in yoga, her mother having been one Australia's early IYTA (International Yoga Teachers Association) Yoga teachers. Maxine has additionally travelled to and studied with the late Sri Pattabhi Jois in Mysore India.
